although it's the office politics tht gets to me!! argh.. i can sense this underlying tension between some of the staff. and there's this person starting to annoy the hell out of of me. all i can say is, do not step on my toes too often, i honestly don't like getting mad at others. and i sure as hell ain't gonna be nice thn.

neveR judge a cD by its CoveR

ah. painful lesson learnt tday! heh. kinda, so hmv was having this clearing out sale, like 1.95 bucks per cd... so i just picked up 3 on a whim. yep, for a lack of another reason, simply because i liked the cd covers.

haha. so #1 was by this girl stephanie kirkham. and i find her voice too "deh" for my liking. prob the sort shaun likes? *shrug*

#2 is a japanese sountrack. or so i thought. since i'm really sick of listening the same songs over and over agn at the restaurant, i decided to buy a new cd for thm! turns out it's a drama cd?!!! so i pressed play, and this voice telling a story came on. thx alot manz. -_-

#3 wasn't tht bad, just an album full of saxophone pieces. just tht, i only like a handful of songs in there. when it comes to insturmental, i'm a purist, like the simpler the arrangement, the better. a few of thm were spoilt cos of all these extra percussion/lead synthesizer stuff, damn bloody annoying. personal faves are "midnite at the oasis" which has this bossa nova swing, "it had to be you" prob one of those evergreen bigband songs, and "how deep is your love" thank gdness they didn't screw the last one up, or i'd just break the cd into 2! it's kinda like my all-time favourite... =p

yup. went to watch elektra with the girls. i think jennifer garner is damn cool!! was pretty exciting to watch... altho there wasn't much of a plot? the cinematography was gd tho... it's like all the scenes are shot in a certain way tht makes it exceptionally... beautiful? thn we had ice-cream at novenpick marche. aah. the mocha dunno-wad flavor was damn gd!!!! *smacks lips*

baby blue eyes

did i mention one of the things i love abt my job is the lil pple i get to meet? they're so adorable, and they really make my day at wrk! haha.. yea, ok. i'm gg mad..

the angmoh lil ones are especially cute! like this other day we had a lil baby girl with the biggest blue eyes, and reddish-blonde bit of hair. she was so smiley!! had to set up the baby chair for her, and she was really fun to play with... thn there was another lil guy, big blue eyes too, furry blonde hair, pacifier stuck in mouth, wandering abt and exploring the place.. he stood there staring at the fountain for qte some time... thn aftr tht, toddled to the "out of bounds" pantry. haha. imagine my surprise... (cos i was in there making o-cha)

*shrugs* i just like the way their parents let thm roam abt, i mean... he was at most... 2 plus? like just learn to walk kind. singaporean parents wld just hold this really tight rein to their precious baobeis. it was amusing watching him la, whilst all of us hurried abt with our trays and stuff... Like, even if he tripped and fell.. he'd just continue crawling happily on the floor. but honestly, prob it's cos he's cute in the first place we didn't mind having him abt. other annoying brats enjoy running all over the place making lotsa noise, and those really get on our nerves.

lil chinese girls are sweet too, cos they look like dolls, with their soft straight black hair and pretty dresses. tho there was this one tht whacked me in the side whilst i was serving food to their table. heh. oh wells. it's fun interacting with them la. (i realize i shld stop gushing)

excitement of the day: oli came to our restaurant during dinner! but damn, it was my off day. yup. and i was all dressed and ready to go sun tanning at clementi, but it was super cloudy when i got there. -_- so we ended up having a nice meal at pizza hut instead.

thank you for the musiC

my darlings popped over for a visit tday. heh. yep. a belated bday bash for me.. altho it was a pity that we had so lil time together. *laughs* so i got my be-A-you-tee-ful roses fr. the boys and the flowers are just the exact shade tht i like!!! like pinkish purple, purplish pink. qte certain becks chose them.

yups, plus this "gift from the heart" fr. the entire clique. only had the chance to look through it properly just now, and i must say reading thru it really stirs up feelings of warmth and fuzziness. everyone's just shoooo sweet. =) grin, and following zw's confessions (sry guys he gave u all away, lol) tht they did it all amazingly today.... whatever. i still like it anyway.
yep.

oh, heh and there's this misconception to clear. wahaa. purple is not my favourite colour!!! blue always has been. i just have more purple stuff cos i can carry off the color well... matches my skin tone and blah. my fave color changes with my mood too. currently i like warm colours. not long ago, it was turquoise.

mmhmm. later on all of us just retired to my room, out came the mattresses, off went the lights. and on went the xmas tree lights!! *laughs* ooooh how ro-man-tique. i will never get tired of having them around... just sitting there talking rubbish, laughing at their lil quirks... everyone's just so adorable la. i mean the 2 guys were sharing one bolster?!!

intro-ed my da wang ba and xiao wang ba to thm... the 2 newest occupants on my bed! fr shyan and hl... my fellow waitresses at hanabi. heh. *sheepish grin* i assure you that they're damn cute k, despite the unruly names.

thn jh played the guitar and serenaded us... mmm. chocolate for the ears. heh. just a lil more boldness and he's all ready to join idol! haha. oh yea, u look just fine dearie. like head very round la, tht's all. waha.

yup.... i'm just sooooo glad i have them. =)

keep ur gaze upon the sky

geez. i feel downright miserable now. hope this doesn't last for long. For the uninitiated, bn having this horrendous bout of diarrhoea for the past 2 days. yep, took leave fr wrk, and slept lots. sh*t-ted lots too.

still feeling reallly weak physically, but i'm damn wide awake and alert now. and you know wad..... i don't wanna return to wrk anymore!!!! aaaargh. this lil voice in my head bn telling me to quit the past few days.

Perhaps it struck as an epiphany, whilst i was on the toilet bowl? like, why the hell am i working this hard for? it's not as tho i'm tht desperate for the $.... and now i'm falling sick all over the place, and my gastric problems are coming back. boo. i suppose it ain't worth it. intend to leave b4 CNY.

nevertheless, i'm proud to say tht i did gain much with this wrking experience. for now, i just can't wait to be free agn.

19... strong enough to break

so my 19th bday came and went. the day itself was disappointing, really. maybe cos i had wrk.... i cldn't actually enjoy myself the way i wanted to.
had this reservation of 16 persons taking the private rm of the restaurant that night. and gosh... it was 16 men! yea. men+ alcohol + cigarettes, horrible combination. they were damn rowdy.. *shudders* tho there were a few gentlemen amongst thm la. ah well, huge appetites, huge mess after.. kinda understood why cap cried when she had to clear up everything alone before the few of us came.

some stuff happened tht left me.... pretty hurt. i feel silly acty , cos it made me cry. and it sure ain't tears of joy. Kinda uncomfortable revealing it... just tht, well, it really sucks after sooooo many years of knowing someone, you finally get to see the person's true colours?? and i suppose it was a trivial matter, but the lil things pple do... are telling of their character??

otherwise. thanx for the lovely well-wishes fr. everyone, kel (the first!), becks, min... Zwwww, sY, godbroo, cap, yit, mich, soochin, wendtin, jiayannn, xw, huishan...

the kitchen guys... david,uncle david, uncle soochaun, uncle robert lol. uncle tan sang a b'day song for me! oh yea...and my beautiful lao ban niangs.
oh.. and el was really blur! grin. she wished me tdy instd. was so amused...

mmhmm. blessed to have friends who make the effort to remember, who at least brightened up the day for me. afterall it's the thought tht counts doesn't it?

so what happened was tht this person whom i've all along considered as my closest pal blatantly told me tht she didn't see the need to wish me a happy b'day, cos in her words, i nvr did the same. i was... really qte cheesed off by tht. perhaps, yea it's my fault tht i forgot hers last yr. but tht kinda logic smacks of immaturity? i mean, i was seeing her face-to-face on the day of my bday itself! it really doesn't take much to say a simple "happy b'day", does it? i was hurt la. other stuff happened as well, yea and i guess i had better settle my issues in person rather thn bitch abt it online.

it's back to the fact tht i hate being taken for granted. i mean, i'm perfectly fine with people coming for stayover parties, lunch,dinner and stuff, cos i do enjoy the company, and my mum and i both are hospitable pple. =p just tht, there is this basic courtesy tht well... please do help me clear up after? or heck, even the preparations beforehand. cos with diy gatherings like these, most stuff have to be done by yours truly. i feel really guilty sometimes, cos half the time my mum, as well as the maid end up being the ones doing the wrk, no thanks to the empty promises fr friends who'd agreed to help.

ok. enough of all tht, just had to air certain stuff, i guess.

dinner at the Big O was lovely, tho the cod-fish i ordered was kinda small. haha.. just enough to tickle your stomach to request for more! thx for the treat dears. and i reallly love the perfume thingy tht elisa got me. sweet.

Ferris wheeeel

okay. i'm slowww... but i just discovered this song, and i absolutely love it. i can just imagine the scene: the dizzying colourful lights, the thrilling rides... the excitement within the air, the screams and laughter, the popcorn and candyfloss.

thn amidst all tht chaos, you spot this lone figure. mmmmhmm...and there's just smth abt him/her tht draws your attention. maybe it's the way tht smile doesn't quite reach the eyes, or maybe it's just how out of place the person seems in contrast with the noisy background; alone and completely unaffected by the hustle and bustle around him.

oops. okay i digress. i'm regaining some semblance of a balanced lifestyle, and i'm kinda proud of myself for tht. i've finished the da vinci code! it's a gd read... pretty intriguing, and i guess i'm gonna do a follow-up with "cracking the da vinci code", cos everything seems in so real the story, i can't separate fact fr. fiction anymore.

and i went swimming at this colleague's condo tdy. she's really a nice lady! also got to know her 17yr old daughter, both of thm are fr china, tho the mum really looks more korean. she has beautiful features. yup, so me and the other waitresses had fun in the pool tho it was raining and kinda freezing. grin yea, and all tht nonsense pushing each other in. one of the girls was wearing this black string bikini and gosh, it looks damn gd on her, cos she has this slight tan, and a real toned bod. haha.. must aspire to have tht kinda of figure man.

thn our lovely host made us egg-drop soup, and chong1 you2 bing3 for dinner! yummmmmmmmy. right, thn we returned to the restaurant for our dinner shift.

haah.. was in slpy mode by thn, i swear i was slp-waitressing.

one of those days

i really dunno whthr to love or hate my job. pretty accustomed to the wrking hours now, and since the period we were initiated into the job happened to be the end-of-yr festive season, it was gd training, at least you become unfazed by the crowd now.

heh, i know i always report to wrk dreading it slightly. tho usually, i'm qte happy on the job, like after kick-starting my inner engines and stuff. there's this tempo thing, when the first few customers come in, you take it slow and easy. thn b4 you know it... the crowd is in...accelerando!

it's really much much easier when the boss has faith in you, and just let you do your stuff. if there's one thing i hate, it's really being nagged at. and i realized... i kinda prefer the intimidating bosses now. at least they have tht trust in me.

my bearbear went into ns tdy. boo, so sadd. haha. he's not gonna read this anytime soon so i really don't care if he cringes or not. will definitely miss him lots, considering he has bn more or less this constant in my life the past 2 yrs... sent this *childish wail* thing really really late in the nite, arnd 4 am plus? and he was so sweet abt it.. am really wondering what they'll look like w'o their beloved hair/spikes. grin, was talking to jy last nite and she mentioned hc too, and quoting her ..."aiya, the most kiasee will definitely survive." lol, tht was really funny. hope everything goes well for the both of thm la.

yup. listening to the ntu talks tmr, and meeting up with yit too. yaY.

to the girls: really sweet of ya all to wanna celebrate my b'day w me.. but i hafta wrk on tht day itself!!! aaaah. will only be free the day after... so, yea.. sry abt tht. dammit. i still haven't enjoyed enough of being 18 yet, and i'm turning 19 real soon.

heh. i'm just dedicating my latest entry to the most adorable lil boyy ever. yea, one of my customers tdy. he was sooo sweet and shyy, absoloutely adorable. the lil man's 17 mnths old. smiled whenever i went to their table.... and his mum was really really nice too. she even asked me and my cuz for our names b4 she left.

honestly, u really get to see all kinds of pple on the job. When you get nice customers, they really make your day. It becomes a pleasure serving them. Then there are others, tht you can tell after one look at their faces, that they're horrible to deal with, and indeed, they are.

i'm amazed at my patience so far, but thn agn, maybe i'm saying this too early. i'm truly learning new stuff everyday, and yea, sometimes it's learnt the hard way. (aka getting nagged and chided at by the bosses.)

*grin* i am absolutely amused at the antics of the kitchen staff. They can just burst out into song one momment, "shen2 ah2, jiu4 jiu4 wo2 ba3....." in unison, when we suddenly had an overflow of orders. and tdy, when we had absolutely no-one in the first 2 hours, one guy was helping me tilt the shoyu box, the other was helping me support the jug while i refilled it. cos, in their words..."wo3 men2 xian4 zai4 mei2 you3 dong1 xi1 zuo4 ma2..." *laughs* they sure make the wrk place fun. =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

yup, so my last day of 2004 was spent at Hanabi. grin. wad can i say? i really foresee myself as this workaholic in the future... haha, yup. this friend who did a palm reading for me says i have a really nice career line. yea, and supposedly a really complicated love life. lol. i'll just take tht with a pinch of salt, dearie.

mmhmm. i think we served over a hundred plus customers during the dinner slot today. Though it didn't feel as hectic as the last time... cos we had more waitresses today.
i think halfway thru i got so sianned out, my face was totally black. think i scared the kitchen guy in the process. waha... he's always sucha big bully, but nice too, kept some chuawamushi for us. Yup, i guess this job really encourages me to push my limits. though i wish my stomach will adjust quickly to the weird mealtimes. it's certainly NOT a gd feeling to be starving and serving food the same time. heh

thn we had our new year celebrations at the restaurant. i think i devoured lotsa maki, tempura, tori teriyaki in the process, plus 2 glasses of champagne tht sent me on a mini-high. waha....

no new year resolutions this yr, since i never keep thm anyway. Just want myself to....... jiayou, jiayou, jiayou in the year ahead! save lotsa money, thn pamper myself lots!

i can't remember how many times i've cried while reading the newspapers the past few days... may all those missing be found. may those who have lost their loved ones find the strength and courage to move on with their lives.

hmm. i'm thinking of volunteering and joining in the rebuilding efforts later on in the yr... tho knowing myself, i'd prob be more of a burden than an asset. for now, donating part of my salary will do... i guess.
